NYKP has an intro session 5-8pm this Saturday. New players' first two sessions are free!
This session is perfect for anyone who is new to the sport as well as those who have played a little before. Basic swimming ability is needed, but no paddling experience is necessary. If you haven't been in a kayak before, we'll teach you the basics. Then we'll briefly go over safety rules and have some casual games. The emphasis at these sessions is only on fun and safety. We usually go out for dinner after the Saturday sessions.
There are also regular practice sessions on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.
People generally wear bathing suits and t-shirt/rash-guard. We have all the other gear you'll need. Be prepared to get wet, and bring a towel - there are showers.
All these sessions are in a warm pool at St. Peter's College, Jersey City (directions at http://nykayakpolo.org/directions.html)
